How does a professional refer work as an associate partner?
An associate partner, on this page, is a person who refers a client to Company Suggestion or shares an assignment with the firm. Chartered accountants, company secretaries, advocates, and people who are not in practice have used that route. It does not make the referrer a partner in a firm, and it does not by itself fix a commission.
What does associate partner mean here?
It is a working arrangement with this firm. The client’s company, tax, or filing work is done by Company Suggestion. The referrer is not appointed as a director, and is not added to a partnership deed, unless a separate engagement says so.
Who can refer work?
A professional who wants the firm to handle a client’s registration or filing, and a person who is not in practice and wants to introduce a client. The firm can also take an assignment from a professional and, where the work fits, pass an assignment the other way. Each assignment is agreed on its own. There is no automatic panel.
How is a fee share settled?
A page published in 2020 spoke of a commission on amounts the firm received. That sentence is not a standing offer. Any share of the professional fee is confirmed in writing for the assignment before the work starts. A government fee payable on a form is not a professional fee.

Is there a fixed commission?
Not on this page. A note from 2020 mentioned a percentage. The share of a fee is confirmed in writing when a referral is accepted. It is not created by filling an old form.
Can a person who is not a professional refer a client?
Yes. The firm accepts a referral from a professional or from someone who is not in practice. The work is still done by Company Suggestion for the client.
Does a referral change the government fee?
No. A government fee on a filing is the government’s. A share, if one is agreed, is of the professional fee, and only on the terms confirmed for that work.
