Can an approved SRN be cancelled?
An approved SRN cannot be cancelled. The service request number is the portal’s number for a form, and approval means the Registrar has taken that form on record. The effect is changed, where the Act allows a change, by filing the later form. It is not changed by withdrawing the number.
What is an SRN?
The Ministry portal assigns a service request number when a form is filed and the fee is paid. The number identifies that filing. It is not a company number, and it is not a director identification number. The company’s other filings are on the stay-compliant page.
What does approved mean?
Approved means the Registrar has accepted the form. The particulars in it are on the register. There is no portal step that cancels that acceptance, and there is no fee for a cancellation that the portal does not offer. A letter to the Registrar, with the original papers or a board resolution, does not take the form off the register.
What can still be stopped?
A form that has not been paid for, or that the portal has marked for resubmission, is not an approved form. The company deals with that status on the portal: pay, resubmit, or leave it. That is not a cancellation of an approved number. Once the status is approved, those options are gone.
How is a mistake corrected?
The company files the form that changes the particular. A wrong director is dealt with by the appointment or cessation form, not by cancelling the earlier SRN. A wrong registered office is dealt with by the office-change form. Where the Act gives no correcting form, the entry stands until a competent authority orders otherwise. This page does not set a number of days for a cancellation, because the cancellation is not a filing.
Frequently asked questions
Four questions cover a cancel button, a letter, a pending form, and a timeline.
Is there a cancel button after approval?
No. Approval means the Registrar has taken the form on record. The portal does not offer a withdrawal of that number.
Does a letter to the Registrar cancel it?
No. A letter, a board resolution, or a set of identity papers does not undo an approved form. The change, if the Act allows one, is a fresh filing.
Can a form that is not yet approved be left?
A form that is still pending payment, or that the portal has sent back for resubmission, has not been approved. It is not corrected by pretending the approved number can be cancelled.
Is there a fixed number of days for cancellation?
There is no cancellation timeline, because an approved SRN is not cancelled. The time for the correcting form is the time that form’s own rule sets.

A service request number is the number the Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal assigns to a filed form. Approval means the Registrar has taken that form on record.
