What was the Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme 2026?

By CS Pooja Jangid Updated

The Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme 2026 was a limited window in which a company could file overdue forms by paying the normal filing fee and only 10 percent of the additional fee. The window ran from 15 April 2026 to 15 July 2026. It has closed.

What did the scheme allow?

Pending annual returns and financial statements could be filed in that window at the reduced additional fee. A company could also apply for dormant status, and a company that wanted its name removed could apply, at a reduced filing fee stated in the scheme. The forms themselves did not change. An annual return is still the form on the annual return page, and the financial statements are still the filing on the financial statements page.

Is the window still open?

No. 15 July 2026 has passed. A form uploaded after that date does not get the scheme’s reduction. This scheme is also not the Companies Fresh Start Scheme 2020, which closed in 2020.

What did it not wipe out?

It did not cancel a prosecution that the scheme left outside its immunity, and it did not remove a company from the register by itself. It did not change the duty to keep filing after the window. A company that filed during the window still files the next year’s forms on the ordinary dates, on the annual compliances page.

What does a late filing cost now?

The normal filing fee plus the additional fee for the number of days of delay. The additional fee is no longer capped at 10 percent of itself. A strike-off, where the company wants one, is the ordinary application under section 248, on the strike-off page. The application carries the government fee. This page does not quote that fee.

Frequently asked questions

Four questions cover the 10 percent fee, the 2020 scheme, the annual forms, and a strike-off.

Can a company still pay 10 percent of the additional fee?

No. That reduction applied only from 15 April 2026 to 15 July 2026. A form filed now pays the additional fee the rules set for the delay.

Is this the 2020 fresh start scheme?

No. The Companies Fresh Start Scheme 2020 was a different scheme, and it also closed in 2020.

Did the scheme excuse the annual forms?

No. It reduced the additional fee on forms that were filed during the window. It did not cancel the duty to file the annual return and the financial statements.

Does the closed window stop a strike-off?

No. A company that wants its name removed still applies under section 248. The concessional fee on that form applied only during the scheme.
