Does the January 2026 compliance calendar still set the due dates?

By CS Pooja Jangid Updated

No. The January 2026 compliance calendar listed statutory dates that fell in February 2026, and those dates have passed. A business uses the standing due dates.

Which dates have passed?

The February 2026 dates for January’s GST returns, January’s provident-fund and ESI payments, and any annual return that became due only because an annual general meeting had been held on 31 December 2025. The April 2026 calendar is a different closed month.

Which GST dates still recur?

GSTR-1 is due on the 11th of the next month, or on the 13th after the quarter for a QRMP taxpayer. GSTR-3B is due on the 20th, or on the 22nd or the 24th for a QRMP taxpayer, as notified for the State. GSTR-7 and GSTR-8 are due on the 10th. A non-resident taxable person files GSTR-5 and does not use the monthly GSTR-1 date. Those dates are on the GST returns page.

Does an annual return fall on 28 February?

Only if the annual general meeting makes it so. MGT-7, or MGT-7A for a small company or a one person company, is due within 60 days of the meeting. A first annual general meeting can be held by 31 December when the first financial year ends on 31 March, because the first meeting has nine months. Sixty days from that meeting can fall in February. It is not a fixed 28 February filing. The standing company dates are on the annual compliances page.

Provident-fund and ESI payments for a month are due on the 15th of the next month. They are monthly payments, not a January form.

What should this page not be used for?

It should not be used for a listed company’s later financial results, and it should not be used as a calendar of dates that are still open. Income-tax payment is on the challan 280 page.
